About Me
My Journey with Nutrition Started Unexpectedly
I wasn’t always a nutritionist. Like most kids growing up in the '90s, I ate whatever was in front of me, not giving much thought to vegetables or where meat came from.
But when I was 12, a movie unexpectedly changed my life. In City Slickers, a comedy about three men on a cattle drive, the ending takes a dark turn: the cattle are sent to slaughter. That moment broke my heart, and I stopped eating meat that day. Over 30 years later, that decision still shapes how I view food, wellness, and compassion.
As I got older, I began to learn how deeply food impacts not just our bodies, but our minds, energy, skin, and mood. Even though I was a vegetarian, I didn’t feel vibrant or well. I dealt with chronic bloating, fatigue, acne, and puffiness. I looked older than I felt.
At 34, I transitioned to a fiber-focused, whole-food diet, and it changed everything. My energy improved, the bloating disappeared, my skin cleared, and I finally felt confident in my own body. It was no longer about just avoiding certain foods; it became about choosing nourishment that works with my body.
After 15 years teaching 8th-grade science and three years teaching fiber-focused cooking classes, I felt called to help others reclaim their health, too. So I made the leap into nutrition full-time.
Today, I help clients who are struggling with the same issues I once faced: fatigue, inflammation, digestive distress, stubborn weight, and that feeling of being out of sync in your own skin. Through a root-cause, lab-informed, personalized approach, I help you feel like yourself again or maybe for the first time.
I live in Redondo Beach, CA (originally from NY), where I go on at least 2 walks a day, love coffee a little too much, and always have at least three to-do lists in motion. I eat dark chocolate daily, believe everything’s better with garlic and salt, and balance weightlifting with learning about crystals & oils at my favorite local shop. I’m equally obsessed with skincare, biochemistry, and sitting around the kitchen table laughing with my family.
